The Farm Bureau Story
In the simplest of terms, Farm Bureau is a grassroots, non-governmental, voluntary membership organization. Those members help to define the voice of agriculture. Our strength is measured by the folks who are the members. Farm Bureau is more than an organization, we are people involved one way or another in agriculture.
What does the structure of Farm Bureau look like?
Yes, there is an American Farm Bureau Federation which includes participation from each state. And there is a California Farm Bureau Federation which provides incredible resources and assistance to the 53 individual county Farm Bureaus in California. But that is not how the picture looks if you draw it out.
It all starts at the county level. Folks, just like yourself, join as a member of their county farm bureau. So the organizational structure goes in the following order: county, state and national. Truly grassroots. The basic foundation is you - but you have to join to make a difference.

What is Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau’s purpose?
The Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau is a non-profit organization whose mission is to represent Yuba and Sutter counties’ agriculture through public relations, education, and public policy advocacy in order to promote the economic viability of agriculture balanced with appropriate management of natural resources. To accomplish this mission, a dedicated group of men and women volunteer their time and energy to serve on the Board of Directors. These volunteers are your neighbors and are all involved in the farming and ranching industries. There is also paid staff that keeps the office going with day to day management and long-range commitment within the communities.
